Gleeds wins key advisory role with NHS Primary Care Infrastructure Fund

Property consultancy to oversee first wave of development of new GP premises in London

International property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, is to take on a programme management role for the Primary Care Infrastructure Fund (PCIF) and General Practitioner (GP) Premises Capital Programme on behalf of NHS England’s London region.

The PCIF is a four-year £1 billion investment programme designed to accelerate improvements in GP premises nationwide.

Through the provision of programme management, Gleeds will be responsible for the delivery of wave one of the London programme, which includes the initial 182 schemes announced nationally in March 2015, with an estimated capital value of almost £35m.

Jill Webb, head of primary care for NHS England’s London region, said: “When reviewing bids from the London Procurement Partnership: Estates & Facilities Advisory Services Framework, the experience of the Gleeds team was considered to be exceptional and they demonstrated that they understand the world we live in.”

Four teams from the Gleeds organisation have been set up to oversee the comprehensive programme of works, providing a robust reporting function which will ensure all projects are compliant with appropriate guidance, tracked and reported to NHS England both locally and nationally. They will also offer advice to individual project teams and support to GPs to help their schemes through the due diligence process.

Gleeds recently appointed former NHS finance specialist, Keith Curtis, who will utilise his 25 years’ experience in healthcare to oversee the delivery of work through PCIF.

Commenting on the announcement, Roger Pulham, Gleeds’ director for health, said: “This is a huge win for Gleeds and our appointment is real testament to the experience of the fantastic team we’ve put together.
